Our first social of the season will be down at the club after the game. The 1st XI are at home to Ightham, 2’s Away to Pembury, and 3’s at Home against Shoreham, so all pretty local.

There will be a BBQ, Bar, and games, music throughout the evening. For social events like this in the past, we have made it a fancy dress event, therefore we will be sticking with that. It just so happens that day is our Captain Anthony Bouffe’s Birthday, therefore, the theme will be AB, so dress up as anything starting with an A or B.

The awards for 2024 will also be handed out. 

2025 Club Events & Fundraising

2025 will see focus moving back to the New Community Pavilion on the Arthur Nicholson, it is really exciting to see the architect appointed and the initial designs being developed for the new pavilion. Anyone who has been in and around the pavilion would understand the desperate need for this.

As usual the cricket club will be involved in a number of fun fundraising events not only for Pavilion fund but also the financial requirements for the club. The events are always good fun and enjoyable.

These include; 

  • Our Annual Golf day at Sweetwoods Golf club on 18th July
  • The successful Race Night returns at the Village Hall on Saturday 15th of November
  • Awards dinner and casino night will be on 4th October
  • 6-a-side Inter Village cricket competition for anyone in the village who would like to take part regardless of ability (14ys +). A chance to hit your neighbours for six! This will be a lot of fun with Bar & BBQ, the date set is Sunday
    20th July.
  • A village fete is planned for the 6th September where there will be all sorts of fun events and details on our new exciting draw with first Prize being a new car.

Pre-Season Social

Our annual club pre-drinks will be held after our first pre-season friendlies on the 16th April. Drinks will start from 7pm at the Kentish Hare and continue on into Tunbridge Wells later on in the evening. Hope to see everyone there to celebrate the successes of last year and look forward to the new season!

Celebrate our special day at the Arthur Nicholson Memorial Recreation Ground marking the 85th Anniversary of the first game at the ground and the centenary of the death of Major Arthur Nicholson in whose memory the ‘rec’ was given by his father.

 

 

 

Events planned:

  • Colts XI vs Speldhurst
  • Senior XI vs Speldhurst
  • Service conducted by Rev’d Stephen Hills
  • Children entertainment
  • Bar and BBQ

When: Sunday 10th August

Where: Arthur Nicholson Memorial Recreation Ground

Time: 9.30 for the first game (Colts XI vs Speldhurst)
