As normal the first week of the new season it rained all but the 3rd team was washed out and they lost, a gloomy evening. The next week it certainly got better with victory over long term rivals Penshurst which was surpassed the following week by bowling out current leaders Sissinghurst for 50 runs. A perfect bowling/fielding performance with 9 catches and 1 dropped on a 5 wicket haul and a hat trick ball… guess who???
Spent most of last Saturday watching the 4th XI at West Farleigh, a spectacular ground well worth a visit. Unfortunately we lost by 2 runs which followed the previous weeks tie. However, the highlight of my first blog (this is it) was last Friday watching U11 against Plaxtol losing by 1 run and on Sunday visiting Southborough to watch the inaugural tournament for U11 where we had 2 teams participating. All games were exciting for both girls and boys, you need to see it to believe it. They are our future.

On Wednesday 4th July the BCC Midweek XI took on Cranbrook in the Final of the Greensands League. BCC were triumphant bringing home the silver as the Greensand League Winners for 2018 and unbeaten this year in the 15-over format. Well played lads!! The Team included; D. Page, S. Jobber, A. Bouffe, E. Clarkson, E. Gray, P. Davis, M. Maritz, D. Hillhouse, R. Packman, J. Poulsom and C. Thorne.

Not long now until cricket week! Celebrating 125 Years.
We will be hosting our usual BCC Summer Social on the last weekend of cricket week (Saturday 28th July) – raising money for the new pavilion. The fancy dress theme this year is anything beginning with O, T or F for our 125th anniversary.

20th to 29th July is the BCC Cricket Week at the Arthur Nicholson Memorial Recreation Ground. Celebrating 125 years of Bidborough Cricket Club. Cricket will be played everyday with something for everyone, so please keep the whole week free.
