Welcome to Bidborough Cricket Club

Situated in the heart of Bidborough, a village nestling in the hills between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, we are a thriving and inclusive cricket club proud to cater for all abilities and ages of cricketers. We run four Saturday afternoon teams in the Kent County Village League, at least one Sunday team and a midweek team for adults and a comprehensive roster of age-group teams in our Junior Section.

Home matches are played either at the Arthur Nicholson Memorial Recreation Ground in Bidborough, venue for our First and Second Saturday Elevens, or at Vizards Sports Ground, Lower Haysden Lane, Tonbridge TN11 9BB the location for our Third and Fourth Elevens.

Full details are to be found in the appropriate part of this website.

We are delighted to welcome new members or visitors, as players, supporters or helpers in any of the many background roles which support a club of our size. If you are new to our area, or new to an interest in cricket, please consider joining us!

We made it

We made it

We made it! After a  period of will we?…won’t we? and a lot of hard work by KCVL we managed to start the season on last Saturday in July when everything was washed out.

So our first matches were on 1st August and thereafter we put out four teams every Saturday and on Sunday mostly two, with games during the week. No mean feat so well done to everyone involved in BCC.Under the amended structure the 1st XI beat Bearsted in final of Division 1. The 2nd XI’s first year in Division 2 lost to Horsmonden in the final.

The move by our 3rd and 4th teams to Vizards was successful. The bonus was the greatest practice facilities. Initially booked for one evening a week, this was increased to two with Monday and Thursday becoming practice evening sessions for juniors and seniors. A meeting point for all ages. It augers well for a normal season. We admit coping with government regulations wasn’t easy but we managed.

Finally it was remarkable coincidence that on the same day that the 1st XI won the title, in the morning at the ANG our u11’s won their title with a 10 wicket victory over Tonbridge. A NOTABLE DOUBLE.

1st XI Win First Division for the third consecutive season

Congratulation to Balders and 1st XI on winning the First Division title for the third consecutive season.
2nd XI in a cliff hanger won by 1 run against Kemsing, so with the last game of the season next Saturday against Ightham at home the winner gets promoted to Division 2.
Agony for 3rd XI who looked to be winning against Southborough but managed only lose by 4 runs, it needs a miracle to avoid relegation.
The 4th XI continue their winning ways under stand-in skipper Aussie Rick.

Golf Day amongst other highlights

BCC golf day at Sweetwoods was a great success thanks to Rodger Poulsom and Chris Wallington.  Some record scores on the day, so many prizes and a fixture for next year.
On the cricket front, the clubs future assured with Under 11 and 15 winning their respective Invicta Leagues. Another good day on Saturday 17th. 1st XI extend their lead at top with 3 games to go. Outwood failing for the second week running! The 2nd XI in contention for promotion….Good win for 4th’s……The only cloud in the sky is that the 3rd XI is in the relegation zone.
