Congratulations to Eli Clarkson and all those who played in the Greensands competition. A comfortable win VS Bells Yew Green at the Nevill Ground. Thats the UP! … now the DOWN…
My target was the 1st XI to remain unbeaten over the season. Unfortunately we lost to Outwood so now no more defeats.
2nd XI v Shoreham, 15th June – An outstanding performance for 2nd XI by Toby Ponsford, 16 years old taking 7 wickets for 9 runs allowing our team to bowl out Shoreham 1st XI for 24 runs, the second best personal performance for the club since 2001.
22nd June – With the 1st XI playing against Linton Park who are challenging us didn’t get to the other 3 games. A very tight and exciting match going to the last over with us being successful. A good team performance.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Pat Rossiter who suffered a facial injury during the 2nd XI match at Stonewall Park.

WEEKEND 8TH JUNE HIGHLIGHTS
- 1st XI Anthony Bouffe 9 overs 6 maidens 5 runs 4 wickets.
- 3rd won by 6 runs
- 4th won by 5 wickets
TOP PERFORMANCE by youngster Drew Beazleigh rescuing the 2nd from 66 for 6 with 89 runs on same day as his father Mark lead the 4th to victory with 71.
In the same match junior Olie Rajah playing his first senior game took 2 wickets.
Its remarkable the number of father/sons playing for the club.
Special Thanks to Fox Print, we have again delivered almost 600 fixture books to the village but I still have a few.
As normal the first week of the new season it rained all but the 3rd team was washed out and they lost, a gloomy evening. The next week it certainly got better with victory over long term rivals Penshurst which was surpassed the following week by bowling out current leaders Sissinghurst for 50 runs. A perfect bowling/fielding performance with 9 catches and 1 dropped on a 5 wicket haul and a hat trick ball… guess who???
Spent most of last Saturday watching the 4th XI at West Farleigh, a spectacular ground well worth a visit. Unfortunately we lost by 2 runs which followed the previous weeks tie. However, the highlight of my first blog (this is it) was last Friday watching U11 against Plaxtol losing by 1 run and on Sunday visiting Southborough to watch the inaugural tournament for U11 where we had 2 teams participating. All games were exciting for both girls and boys, you need to see it to believe it. They are our future.
